For more than twenty years, Barbara Jessie-Black poured her heart into building CommunityWorx, an organization rooted in equity, dignity, and opportunity for everyone. Her compassion, leadership, and belief in people changed lives across Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
Barbara always believed that every person deserves a fair chance to thrive. Her legacy lives on in the work we do each day, from empowering youth and families to helping local nonprofits grow stronger through collaboration and creativity.
